Tsavorite
The green variety of grossular garnet is called Tsavorite. It was discovered a few decades ago. It is a light, verdant, or dark green. Tsavorite have excellent luster. They are given all kind of shapes and are generally found in less than a carat. It is very difficult to find a few carat pieces.

Occurrence:
This green variety of garnet found few decades before only is found mainly in Kenya and Tanzania. Major part of Tsavorite is found only in this area, but still it is found quite rarely.
Value:
If a good color (lively strong green) it fetches a very good price. Because of its small size and less avaiblity it is one of the most expensive stone of secondary gems.
